0:00
So I probably am getting the majority of people in the group to watch this video. And yes, it's George.
0:05
And no, I didn't lose a half a million dollars, but someone in the group did and I want to go over how that happened. I don't want it to happen to you. And let's just start out with understanding what digitize means.
0:20
So when I say things like never digitize your 24 words, your private key, your seed phrase, your pneumonic phrase, I really honestly mean don't digitize it.
0:33
If you have a tech background, if you have a sterile environment, if you go step by step by step, that takes a lot of time and effort, then you might want to consider that.
0:44
I have a video in my class, and that's the only way that I would do it.
0:49
If you digitize something, which means put it into a keyboard, put it on a drive, USB stick, you are going to potentially get hacked like the, the couple that I just got off the phone with earlier today.
1:06
So, if you don't know 100% what you're doing when you digitize, don't think that you can just type things into your keyboard. You can put it on a Word doc that you can keep it in your computer and that it's all OK, or you can even keep it in your LastPass, and it's OK, it's not.
1:25
When you digitize things, it has to be a sterile environment if you don't know what that means, then don't do it. You can't be connected to the Internet. You have to have a unique, new user creative, so it's a complete sterile environment.
1:41
But let's not go over that, let's go what happened to this couple so they were trying to get their persistence, unstained and so they went to persistence dot one, they didn't reach the timeframe, they couldn't get there. They could have used the VPN, but they decide to reach out to someone on the internet. They went to the forums area of persistence, and somehow, when they signed up, they put in a question. And someone reached out this, this person a shade. And for some reason, they got an e-mail. I'm not going to do a lot of research on the back end because it doesn't matter, at this point, but they got this e-mail. And it said, hey, come and we will help you. Just, you know, you can reach out to our live Support team and click this link Persistence support, which goes to live support dot T, F, R Y, X dot XYZ.
2:36
Doesn't sound frickin legitimate at all? No, it does not.
2:39
So let's go take a look and see what that domain as well, the domain really doesn't show anything. It does show that they're using Cloudflare, and I use Cloudflare all the time because it hides my real IP address. and they're using Cloudflare, so their IP addresses are really hidden.
2:56
So we have no idea where that domain is, and there's no information about this company Which, you know, most companies, if they're legit, they want to have marketing. They want to have promotions. They want to be known. So why would they hide all of their information and who is it? I'm going to hide it because I don't want anybody know who I am and where I am. But a company should be able to say, oh, yeah, I want you to know who I am. In fact, I want you to use our service.
3:28
So, know, right now, I use something called network chuck, and I wanted to go visit this help desk and network Chuck, and I'll show you in just a little bit as well.
3:38
What network Chuck is, it is a, I'm actually on a computer somewhere else in the world, and I made a connection to the scumbags to see, you know, What was up? I am guessing this website is just a scam site where the EU visit this website. There are holes.
3:57
There are there are ways to use your browser to get into your computer, depending on what you have set up.
4:07
I've shown it to you, and in other videos where there's been a white hat and he showed me how easy it was to see what is happening on someone's keyboard, by just visiting a compromised website. Well, this is probably a compromised website.
4:24
Here's the live support dot T F R Y X dot XYZ, and if you go to the front door, it just says, Welcome.
4:33
You know, they, they should be promoting something there, and not just that. So, you know, I did talk to this scumbag and he wanted my persistence, address. That's all that they gave this.
4:48
This person are this creature and what happened was, on the backend, they did not realize this, but they had digitized their 24 words, their passwords on a thumb drive, and that thumb drive was not encrypted. The thumb drive was plugged into the computer when they went to this live help site and these scumbags went in to their computer, went into their thumb drive and basically grabbed all the information there. So their passwords are compromised.
5:26
Their 24 words are compromised, everything is compromised as far as I'm concerned on that computer and they have to start from scratch as well as all of their coins on their ledger which they thought was safe, are gone.
5:42
They went through, you know, used the 24 words, probably recreated a ledger and went through and just, you know, scraped the coins 1 by 1.
5:51
So they lost a half a million dollars in the last day or so, which is going to be hard for them to swallow. It's hard for me to swallow.
5:59
I really was hoping that, you know, all the times I've said things that people would listen to it and, um, and follow the instructions.
6:10
So we're going to go back to what digitize means. It means anything that you've done, besides write it down on a piece of paper.
6:20
I don't care if you've put it into LastPass, which you shouldn't, any password manager. You shouldn't.
6:27
These 24 words should be locked away in multiple places, and you should really never bring them to the light of day, unless you absolutely, positively, half to use them.
6:43
This was an expensive lesson for them to learn, and I want every one of you to learn, from their lesson and not have to do it yourself, to learn it.
6:56
I've talked to people that have said, I'm, I'm technical, and you know what, I don't really listen to your stuff, like, that's OK. You don't have to do anything you want to know. It is your path, it's your journey.
7:09
I just want to inform y'all about the dangers that are out there with crypto running with this bull market, getting underway.
7:22
The scumbags scammers are going to be coming out of the word work and they're going to be taking your crypto if you're not careful.
7:29
So, once again, don't digitize.
7:32
If you have change everything out, get a new ledger, move them all over. They're moving.
7:37
maccallum brown moved them someplace safe that are going to be out of reach of anybody coming and trying to steal them.
7:46
Don't give you 24 words out your 12 words out.
7:49
Don't visit websites that you are not for sure that they are who they say they are like this one, you know? What is that?
8:03
Don't get help in a telegram channel and a discord channel with someone random that says Oh, I'm here to help you if you go to any discord or Telegram channel, they will state if someone reaches out to you, they are not there to help you. They are there to hurt you.
8:23
These people did the best They could and they, you know, just went to a life support area And they were taken advantage of Sign up for the telegram channel the tech only Telegram channel. There's a lot of great people in there. I'm spending more time in there to help people I Can just do the best that I can do. And say be careful. Think everybody is out to get your coins unless proven otherwise and if you, You know, you hear me every week, so hopefully, you can trust me, You don't talk to anybody else.
8:59
And you don't know what And how trustworthy they are, so be careful with everything that you have and don't expose your 24 words. So, it was really heartbreaking to talk to them today, and I just had to make this video.
9:14
So, if you think you've ever digitize jeer 24 words, I think that maybe it's time to get them to a safe place. Put your comments down below. Everybody. Thanks a lot. Have a great day.

Executive Summary:

George issues a stark warning and comprehensive guidance on the perils of digitizing sensitive information, specifically focusing on the crypto realm. He recounts a distressing incident where a group member lost a significant sum of $500,000 due to a cybersecurity lapse. The core of his message revolves around the critical importance of safeguarding digital assets, emphasizing that personal security keys or phrases, such as the 24-word recovery phrase, should never be digitized unless under meticulously controlled conditions.

George elaborates on the deceptive simplicity of digital storage, debunking the perceived safety of storing sensitive information on electronic devices or cloud services. He illustrates this point through the harrowing experience of a couple who, in their pursuit of assistance with their cryptocurrency transactions, fell victim to a sophisticated phishing scam. This unfortunate event unfolded after the couple sought help on an online forum and were directed to a fraudulent support website, resulting in the theft of their digital wallet’s recovery phrase and the subsequent loss of their assets.

Throughout the video, George underscores the necessity of exercising extreme caution when dealing with digital assets. He advises against the casual digitization of recovery phrases, stressing the risks associated with even the most seemingly secure digital environments. By sharing insights into the deceptive tactics employed by cybercriminals, including the use of seemingly legitimate platforms to execute scams, George aims to heighten awareness and foster a culture of vigilance within the cryptocurrency community.

Concluding his message, George advocates for a return to traditional security measures, encouraging the physical, secure storage of recovery phrases and the use of hardware wallets. He stresses the importance of skepticism and thorough verification when navigating online resources and support channels. Through this detailed account, George seeks not only to educate but also to prevent similar incidents from occurring within the BINJ Team and the broader digital asset community, reinforcing the axiom that when it comes to digital security, caution and informed diligence are paramount.

  1. Tough cookie to swallow for the team members that loss the $500K. However, George and Jay have been hitting on this so hard for so long it’s like dang…who isn’t listening. I was brand new to crypto when I joined the group and I remember the sentiment of everyone stating write down your phrase words on paper ONLY!

  2. I’ve seen some YouTube videos where people troll scammers for entertainment, and it’s quite crazy the hacking that goes on there. Some guys on YouTube will end up hacking into finding the identities of the scammers and all of that. So if they can be reverse-hacked, then we can definitely be hacked. Computer security is definitely frustrating to deal with but a must… Thanks for the update George. The title was an eye-catcher for sure, but a must-watch for everyone.

  3. Sickening and heartbreaking too.
George, you are one amazing asset to our group. I wouldn’t have been able to navigate this space without you. Thank you for your compassion towards each one of us.

  4. Ouch…very ouch! 🤕

I wish them the best moving forward, and I do believe that money will manifest for them in another way if they stay positive.

  5. My goodness, this is so sad. I also have had coins stolen because I was not paying complete attention, don’t do this stuff at night after a long week of WORK, and if you really need pointers get on our group telegram, there is a wealth of info and people are really there to help. which reminds me that I still need help after 7 yrs of this.
THANK YOU GEORGE for being the man out front.
